Mardis Gras, New Orleans, 1946 and 1947
Mardis Gras was a very festive time that everyone looked forward to, especially with the War ended. My parents, Cecile N. and A. Hews McCann, Jr. had many artist friends that gathered at the Court of Two Sisters restaurant. Of course, we children were delighted to wear the beautiful costumes made by our grandmother, Dorothy Brock McCann, and to scramble for the doubloons and beads thrown from the floats.
