A Year in France
Mourmelon le Grand is a small farming community about 50 miles east of Paris, and just Southeast of Reims. My father, Albert Hews McCann, Jr. was briefly stationed near here in WWII, where he was befriended by the Christelle family. The Christelles played an important role in the life of the McCann family from 1947-1948, while my father, Albert Hews McCann, Jr, was an architecture student in Paris at the École des Beaux Arts.
Following the War, my father applied for and was approved for the GI Bill of Rights tuition for a three year term at the school in Paris. Our family was only able to stay for one year.View the Year in Letters »»
